Autism is a spectrum of neurological disorders long ignored by the medical community. But now, thanks to celebrities who kindly shared their time for fundraising, autism is now commanding the attention of parents, pediatricians and researchers. According to reports, talented singer Toni Braxton helped raise $1.45 million for autism research, along with actor Matthew Broderick and comedian Bill Cosby. These celebrities have helped raise awareness for autism in the same way that actor Michael J. Fox did for Parkinson's disease. The Autism Society of America has seen its budget grow to $20 million, and a new advocacy group -- Autism Speaks -- raised more than $33 million in its first year of operation in 2006. And that's thanks to celebrities like Toni Braxton who find it in their hearts to help disadvantaged people. And if you miss her lovely voice, don't fret! Rumor has it she's going to release an album soon. Can't hardly wait!

The bankruptcy beleaguered R&B singer Toni Braxton did not let her financial status get in the way as she celebrated her forty-first birthday in high style at Mr. Chow recently. No, she did not have an all-out celebrity party. As if she could afford one, lol! Her birthday party was just an intimate dinner with her dearest A-list friends. According to TMZ.com, Toni Braxton’s guests included music mogul Clive Davis, mega entrepreneur Russell Simmons, and dazzling actress Jennifer Lewis. Given that these people are used to high class living, it won’t be a surprise that the birthday dinner bill amounted to a whopping $2,933.80! w00t! I hope Toni wasn’t the one who paid the bill. That would surely be a big dent to her monthly allowance, lol! And don’t ask me how TMZ.com was able to sneak a peek at the bill, their paps are just g00d in what they do, hehe! Toni Braxton set to release new album! October 3, 2007
Rejoice all Toni Braxton fanatics! Our favorite R&B and soul songbird is back in the music scene! After being in the news for having breast cancer (which she has over and over denied), Toni is once again making the headlines for her upcoming album. She has revealed on the Montell Williams Show that she's currently in the midst of recording her new album. According to Toni Braxton, her new album is set to be released around March 2008. As yet, the album is untitled. Her last album was in 2006 entitled “Libra” and was released via Blackground Records. Toni is a six-time (!!!) Grammy award winner who has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. She has played the lead roles in Broadway’s “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aida”. If you want to hear her lovely voice, she can be currently seen in her own Las Vegas show, “Toni Braxton: Revealed”, five nights a week at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
